About

Blo was started in 2007 with a simple idea: wash and blow out styling without cuts or color. The brand now describes itself as a franchise with more than 140 locations in America and Canada. Each location is independently owned and operated by a local bar owner, so services, hours and prices can differ from one city to the next, and prices are shown on each location's page.

Blo's stated mission is to enhance customers' lives through blow outs and beauty. The brand says it wants to welcome people of all ages and ethnicities and to treat every guest as a guest of honor, and it describes its aim as a feel-good experience for any day, not only special occasions. It also says its staff are its greatest asset and that it commits to opportunities for them to build careers.

The blow out menu starts with a signature blow out that includes a wash and a choice of styles, from classic smooth finishes to runway-inspired curls. Add-ons include braids, deep conditioning, head massage and several hair treatments, and there are options for longer or denser hair, bonded extensions, and clip-in extension installation with extensions bought from Blo or brought in by the client. A Blo Mini, a blow out with wash, is offered for children age 8 and under.

Makeup is offered at most bars and includes full face looks, express face, eyes only, lash application, lash and liner, brow shaping and touch-ups. Clients can choose one of five signature makeup looks or request a custom look based on their own mood board. Makeup on the go brings an artist to the client's chosen location.

Bridal services cover engagement photos, bridal showers, bachelorette parties and weddings. Bridal hair and makeup can be booked in the bar or on location at a hotel or reception venue, and group styling is available for the bridal party. The brand says it guarantees beautiful photos for bridal party styling.

Blo On The Go sends a stylist to the client for blow outs at events or when time is tight, and Blo Party hosts bachelorette parties, showers, holiday and birthday parties for adults and kids. The open space can also be booked for charitable fundraisers, networking events and product launches. Birthday bookings are available for kids age 5 and up, tweens and teens.

Booking and changes are handled directly with each bar rather than through the website, and some locations offer early morning appointments from 7am on request. Visits are at a neighborhood bar location rather than a full-service salon floor, with services focused on styling.

Blo centers on blow outs and beauty, with a stated aim to make every client feel like a welcome guest regardless of age or background.
