Boho Balayage operates as a solo studio on the tenth floor of Manespace, in suite 1005. Ruxandra Vasilescu started it as her own business after the salon where she had been working, Le Panache Loft in Williamsburg, closed during the pandemic. Appointments are required and walk-ins are not accepted, so clients book in advance.

The studio is built around natural-looking color that grows out well, with hair integrity treated as the priority. Services cover gray coverage and gray blending, dimensional and freehand balayage, platinum root work and full platinum transformations, corrective color, haircuts, and Cezanne smoothing treatments. Platinum transformations and corrective color begin with a consultation, which clients can arrange by text.

Cezanne smoothing is the studio's most specific offering. The Cezanne Express and Cezanne Express Blonde versions take 150 minutes and last up to 10 weeks, while the Classic and Classic Blonde keratin versions take 180 minutes and last up to 5 months. All Cezanne treatments are formaldehyde-free, and the blonde versions use violet pigment for blonde and gray hair.

Root touch-up memberships run on a four-, six- or eight-week cycle. Members get blowouts at a special rate, a free gloss on every third appointment, savings on products, and lower prices on extra services.

Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments changed with less notice are charged 50% of the reserved service, though a last-minute booking may be moved once to another available time without that fee if an alternative works for both sides. Gift cards are sold in $150, $300, $400 and $500 amounts or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final.
