Every appointment is with Andrea, one colorist and one client at a time, with no assistants. Each visit starts with a consultation covering hair history, lifestyle and goals. She talks through upkeep and what a service will involve and cost before anything is done, then mixes each formula from scratch for that appointment. Colors come from Redken, Wella, Schwarzkopf and L'Oréal, chosen for the individual client. Because the same colorist handles the cut and the color, the two are planned together. New clients can have a free consultation in person or over FaceTime and complete an intake form before their first visit.

The work centers on blonde and dimensional color: balayage, hand-painted dimensional color, highlights, and natural-looking shades that keep their shape as they grow out. Blonde covers warm honey and champagne tones through cool ash and bright platinum. Going from very dark hair to platinum usually takes several sessions. Andrea explains in advance when a look will need more than one visit, and she refers clients elsewhere when a request is more elaborate than her work.

Booking is by appointment only, Tuesday through Saturday, and walk-ins are not accepted. Appointments can be booked online through the salon's GlossGenius page, and booking at least a week ahead is recommended for color. Cancellations and reschedules are free up to 48 hours before an appointment. Within 48 hours, rescheduling is not allowed and cancellations are charged the full booked service, and no-shows are charged in full. Color that does not match the consultation can be corrected at no charge if reported within 10 days. Prices are starting prices and vary with hair length, density and condition, and any added service is confirmed with its cost first. The salon states it holds a 5.0 rating across 200 Google reviews.

From the F line at 2nd Avenue, the salon is one block's walk. The J and Z lines stop at Bowery, two blocks away, while the B, D, F, M, 4 and 6 lines serve Broadway-Lafayette roughly four blocks off.
