Founded in 1990 by Dr. Eric R. Nelson, the practice works only in oculoplastic and ophthalmic plastic surgery. Its surgeons treat the eyelids, tear duct system, orbits, and brow, as well as the area around the eye and mid-face, with both reconstructive and cosmetic work. The practice describes itself as a premier destination for this care and says many of its patients come by word of mouth.
The first step is an office visit, where the team answers questions and talks through options. The practice describes its consultation as no-pressure and says its care is built around a calm, comfortable experience tailored to each person. It does not offer free consultations, and cosmetic pricing is given over the phone. For insured visits, patients bring photo ID and an insurance card and should confirm the practice is in-network before a first appointment. The practice also states it works to give all patients equal access, whatever their language, national origin, or hearing ability. The clinic is in a newly built Edina location with bright, clean spaces, open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 4:30 and Friday from 8:00 to 12:00.
Surgical procedures are outpatient. Eyelid surgery typically takes 45 to 90 minutes and is done in a surgery center or hospital with an anesthesia team, which bills separately from the office. Patients need a ride home and overnight help arranged, a pre-operative physical with their primary care doctor within 30 days, and cosmetic fees paid in full seven days before surgery. Referring providers can send patients through a downloadable Request for Consultation form, and the patient portal, FollowMyHealth, handles medical records and messages with providers.
Focuses on a calm, comfortable visit with care tailored to each patient and no pressure to accept treatment.
