The salon sits in Portland's Hollywood district, a neighborhood with independent boutiques, restaurants and specialty shops, some within walking distance. It is the newest venture of cut and color specialist Valerium Pereira, and the team covers hair color, cutting, styling and extensions.

The interior blends Italian design with a Northwest character and is meant to feel calm and spa-like, with clean lines and touches of color. Local craftsmanship runs through the space: cabinetry by Brian Gualtieri, hand-chiseled limestone tile from Ann Sacks, cast resin dividers with beach grass set inside them, and a Bruck chandelier with clear and cobalt lamps. Local interior designer Mark Haidle developed the design.

Haircuts include dry cuts, free comb and cut, razor and scissor over comb techniques, and a specialty service for naturally curly hair. Extensions are available through Balmain by Tres Jolie.

The salon's guiding idea is that all things evolve. It offers select products from a range of hair care brands. Walk-ins are welcome, the front desk is open 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and the salon is open seven days a week by appointment.
