A cut visit starts with a personalized consultation, followed by a shampoo with a head massage, an explanation of the products used and a blowout. Color visits begin with a consultation that covers face shape, color, lifestyle and upkeep. Designers aim to teach guests about hair care rather than sell, and the choice of services stays with the guest. Each consultation can end with an at-home care plan that lists recommended products for hair and scalp, and the salon notes results may depend on using them. Designers go through testing and auditions before taking clients. The salon runs in-salon education through mentors and independent educators and sends designers to some outside programs. Designer prices reflect how long the designer has been working, the education completed and demand. Very thick hair may carry a surcharge. Trims are priced as cuts and charged by the time reserved, not the amount cut off. Short cuts come with an optional aromatherapy hot towel, and hot tool styling is complimentary with a service.

Open Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm; closed Sunday and Monday. Reservations can be requested through the online booking button or a request form, and guests who cannot find a time can email concierge@twighair.com or call 760-431-8989. Every reservation requires a credit card on file. Bookings of about three hours or more require a $100 deposit, credited toward the service, which is forfeited for a no-show or a cancellation or reschedule with less than 72 hours notice unless the spot is filled. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are charged 50%, and under 24 hours 100% unless the spot is filled. No-shows are charged the full scheduled service. Children and pets are not allowed at reservations. Guests can ask for a quiet service and are asked to use earbuds for calls and videos during appointments.

Adjustment requests must be made within 72 hours of the service and are redone with the same designer; redos after that are charged as a new service. Adding services to an existing appointment is charged separately. Gratuity is optional, with 20% considered standard. Twig Gratitude Rewards is free to join and guests are enrolled automatically. Points are earned on services and retail, expire 12 months after they are earned and have no cash value; gift card purchases do not earn points. Product purchases can be exchanged or taken as store credit only within 30 days.

Designers aim to educate guests on hair care without pushing sales, leaving the final choice to the guest, and each designer goes through testing and auditions before taking services.
