Hellbent for Hair

Hellbent for Hair sits on Main Street in downtown Vista, between Mikko Sushi and Seven Skin Beauty Loft. Every stylist is a booth renter running a separate business, with their own booking, pricing and schedule. The salon is open Monday through Saturday by appointment only, opens at noon on Tuesdays, and is closed on Sundays.

Appointments are booked through each stylist's own online link and need the stylist's approval. No front desk is always staffed, so pricing and service questions go to the individual stylist, who also sets their own cancellation policy. There are no salon-wide gift cards, though stylists may offer them individually.

Color is the core of the menu. Lived-in color and balayage can combine clay painting, balayage or foiliayage with a scalp massage, a root smudge and a gloss. Color Block work lightens certain sections in one shade while other sections get a different color. Stylists also offer highlights, fantasy color, and root touch-ups or all-over color. For cuts, the Precision Haircut covers any style, and stylists help pick the right one.

Children are welcome at services of an hour or less. For color or longer services, children should stay home. Children at short appointments should keep noise low and use headphones for devices. The shop also has merchandise for sale.
