The Summerland was founded by Avian King and is operated by The Summerland LLC. Under one roof it brings together yoga classes, hair services and sound and energy work. The space has high ceilings, warm wood floors, plants, soft natural light and organic materials, with subtle scents in the air. Free street parking is available nearby, and paid lots are within one block.

Hair services are offered privately, and the studio can arrange silent sessions on request. Guests or children are welcome if they suit the appointment, though the studio is not child-proofed. It is not pet-friendly, apart from trained service animals performing a task for a disability. Chemical services are not offered. Clients are asked to share any allergies, sensitivities or relevant health information before a hair service.

Yoga is taught in four styles. Vinyasa is the signature practice, a purposeful sequence built around steadiness and strength, with modifications always welcome. Slow Flow moves more slowly, with longer holds and deeper awareness. Restore is a gentle class that combines restorative shapes, energetic healing and a quiet ceremonial feel. Sunday Service is a 75-minute weekend vinyasa class that includes sound and ritual. Classes start on time and doors lock at the start, so students are asked to arrive 7 to 10 minutes early. First-time yoga students accept a liability waiver through Mariana Tek when they make their first booking there.

The haircut menu covers a Signature Haircut shaped to the client's texture and daily routine, a Dry Haircut for clients who wear their hair natural or air-dried, and longer sessions that add energy work. The Ceremonial Cut and The Rebirth Session combine a haircut with grounding breath, a smoke blessing and Reiki, and The Rebirth Session also includes guided meditation and personalized sound healing. Bridal services include a styling trial, a day-of session and a full bridal haircut with energy clearing, and bridal styling requires a trial first. Private studio rentals for bridal parties and location styling are available on inquiry. Hair appointments are booked and paid through Square, and changes need 24 hours notice.

Haircut work is grounded in technique and guided by intuition, and sessions often pair cutting with energy work.
