Opal Nail Studio reopened in November 2020 under new owners who had previously worked at the West Seattle studio, which had been known as Juniper Natural Nails. The menu is built around low-toxic manicures and pedicures in three tiers: The Essential, The Lux and The Remedy. The Essential is the simplest, with cuticle work, shaping, an organic sugar scrub, moisturizing and polish. The Lux adds massage, a hand mask and a hot towel wrap, and the Lux pedicure adds an herbal Epsom foot soak and foot mask. The Remedy tier, for guests 18 and older, uses CBD, hemp and magnesium body products in its sugar scrub, body oil, hand massage and magnesium foot soak.
Nail art is offered as add-ons in several levels, from a quick single design with minimal art or foils, through minimal designs on a few nails and fuller gel designs, to custom work. Ombré and French tips are also available, and bridal nail art can be customized. Larger designs ask for reference photos to be emailed before the appointment. Custom nail art is a specialty of the studio.
Visits are by appointment only, booked through Vagaro, with a credit card required to hold any booking. Cancellations or changes need to be made at least 48 hours ahead, and late cancellations or no-shows are charged the full service price. Prices do not include gratuity, and the salon asks for at least 20% by credit card. Only major credit or debit cards are accepted. The salon does not offer acrylic, SNS or dip services and does not remove them, so clients arriving with those may be turned away without a refund.
The salon uses clean, non-toxic products and polishes, and focuses on low-toxic manicures and pedicures alongside custom nail art. It does not offer acrylic, SNS or dip services.
