The Skin Artist is a small, solo-run studio on South Euclid Avenue in Pasadena. The owner, Alexis R, is the only esthetician, so clients are seen by the same person from start to finish of their visit.

The facial menu ranges from a 30-minute Glow on the Go with cleansing, light exfoliation and hydration, through a 60-minute Essential Facial and a 75-minute Clarifying Facial designed for acne-prone skin, up to the 75-minute Signature Facial. The Signature Facial includes a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions when needed, LED light therapy, shoulder and scalp massage and a personalized mask. The 90-minute Nano Infusion is a non-invasive treatment that uses nano infusion technology to press customized serums into the skin. Back facials and a 30-minute Vagacial, a mini facial for the bikini area with red light therapy, are also offered.

Waxing covers the face, body and intimate areas, from single spots such as the forehead, nipples and ears to full leg, full back and full arm services. Brazilian waxing is a specialty, with options for a small triangle, landing strip or bare finish. Eyebrow services include a wax, a semi-permanent tint that typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks with proper care, and a semi-permanent lamination that the studio says can last up to 6 to 8 weeks, with a combined lamination and tint option. Extractions can be added to a bikini or underarm wax.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice by calling (626) 657-7212 to reschedule; late cancellations and no-shows are charged half the service cost, and the cancellation policy may change. Clients have a 10-minute grace period. Payment is accepted by card, Apple Pay and cash, with cash needing the exact amount. Additional guests are only allowed if they also have a service booked that day, small children are welcome, and service animals are welcome. The studio is not wheelchair accessible. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 PM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 1 PM; the studio is closed Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Works solo at the studio, so every appointment is handled by the owner.
