The Siren Society Salon

Founded by two lifelong best friends, the salon occupies the third floor of a historic Old Town Alexandria building. There is no elevator, and the space is not wheelchair accessible. The salon states that it supports the LGBTQIA+ community.

The salon offers hair services only, with lived-in color, blonding, and extensions as its main focus. Blonding options run from a half painted balayage starting at $235 to a full foilyage dimensional starting at $380, and a reverse balayage for a lower-maintenance blonde starts at $330 (about 3.5 hours). Color correction starts at $600 and takes about 5 hours, and may need more than one session depending on the goal. Gloss, all-over color, root retouches, and express color for grey at the hairline and part are also available.

Extensions are a major part of the work. A complimentary consultation is required before booking any extension service. Options include a one-row volume install from $400 (hair not included), a two-row install including hair from $800, a three-row transformation at $1,200, and hand-tied or weft-method installs. Row tightening is priced by row, and extension removal is free.

Visits are by appointment only, and walk-ins are not accepted. Cancellations need at least 48 hours' notice, and shorter-notice cancellations and no-shows are charged. Guests can bring food and work on a laptop during appointments, and children and dogs are welcome. Payment is accepted by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, Zelle, and cash. Parking is metered nearby, and free street parking on Queen Street has a two-hour maximum.
