Mane Street Georgetown was started to fill a gap the founders saw in the Washington, D.C. salon scene. The salon describes its aim as a personalized visit built around artistry, authenticity and empowerment, and it describes its space as high-end and welcoming.

Every color service and every haircut begins with a personalized consultation. A $50 color consultation deposit is taken at checkout and applied toward a later color service. It is non-refundable and is collected whether or not a future appointment is booked.

The salon is a Davines Concept Salon and says it is one of the only Davines salons in the area. It uses Davines Pro products for color and for hair care, and sells the SU and OI lines along with Naturaltech for scalp and hair concerns. Davines in-salon treatments are $35 each and can be added to any service. According to the salon, Davines is made primarily in Italy under European cosmetic regulations and is a Certified B Corporation. Owner Kim toured the Davines Village in Parma, Italy, with a group of salon owners.

The salon says it works with Green Circle Salons on eco-conscious practices and uses Vish technology to cut waste and environmental impact. It also describes contributing to the Georgetown community through partnerships and local initiatives, and says it commits to ongoing professional development for its team. Freelance professionals work on flexible schedules alongside the full-time staff.

Changes or cancellations need a minimum of 24 hours' notice; anything later incurs a fee of half the booked service's price. Missing an appointment without giving notice means paying the full price of the service before a new booking can be made. Anyone dissatisfied with an outcome has 48 hours from the visit to reach out, and the salon may offer a free correction if it is requested within two weeks of the appointment. Paid services carry no refund, while unused retail items can be swapped within 30 days. People with an existing or suspected allergy or skin sensitivity fill out an Allergy and Sensitivity Waiver beforehand, and a patch test could be asked for, to be done two or more days before treatment. Parking options include metered curbside spots, reserved places in the Georgetown Park garage, and a Spot Hero lot located right behind the building.
