The salon's guiding idea is that being nappy describes a mindset more than a hair texture. Nia coaches clients through going natural, transitioning to locs, and self-love along the way.

Visits start with a one-on-one consultation, which is required for every first-time client. A client who arrives without one has the appointment changed to a consultation or cancelled, and the consultation fee is applied to their first full service. Starter packages include a consultation and a Nappy Magic Locs Care Starter Kit.

Maintenance visits include the Nappy Magic Treatment of shampoo, conditioning and essential oil application. Scheduling policies are firm: a no-call, no-show is charged the full scheduled service and must be paid before the next appointment is booked. Clients have a 10-minute grace period for lateness, a $15 fee applies at 15 minutes, and appointments are cancelled after 30 minutes.

Hair care is paired with wellness coaching, with a consultation before any first service. Mature locs are advised to receive a deep cleanse every 3 to 6 months, and no more than twice a year.
