The Lab Tacoma works out of Suite 202 in the Harmon Building on Pacific Avenue, inside Azarra Salon. Clients reach the suite by stairs or by elevator, and if the door is locked they ring the bell to be let in. The salon describes its service as superior and personal, and it works from a curated menu rather than a long list of options.

Hair is the focus, and the menu covers haircuts starting at $50, color going darker from $110, blonde re-toning at $150, color going lighter from $280 and color correction from $360. The salon says it welcomes everyone and wants each client to leave feeling beautiful and cared for. Special requests can sometimes be accommodated on weekends and after hours if clients contact the salon first.

Parking is available in four free guest spaces behind the Harmon Building on Commerce St, a private road, and there is street parking on Pacific Ave that can be paid through the Flowbird app. Parking costs can be reimbursed as a discount on the service. Payment by cash, Venmo or Cash App is encouraged, with cards accepted as a last resort. Same-day cancellations or reschedules carry a fee of 40% of the service, applied to the next booking, or a cancellation fee if no reschedule is made.
