The Cut - A Salon operates from a private studio at 2320 North Davidson Street in Charlotte's Noda neighborhood. Its two owners, Rebekah Leonard and Lees Williamson, are partners in the business and both work as stylists there.

The salon describes its aim as creating a space where everyone feels comfortable and confident. It calls itself LGBTQ+ friendly, says it is a Strands for Trans certified salon, and offers gender affirming services. Pricing is genderless, so the same menu applies to every client.

Clients who want a calmer visit can add a Quiet Appointment, which is focused on hair goals and relaxation. The space is ADA accessible.

Services split between cutting and color. Rebekah handles cuts, from short and men's styles to creative cuts and curly shapes. Lees handles color, from corrective work and blonding to vivid fashion shades and natural, lived-in looks. The salon uses Cult & King, Verb and Layrite products and states that its product lines are cruelty free, with a focus on natural ingredients and sustainability.

The salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Cancellations or reschedules made within 48 hours of an appointment incur a 50% charge, and a no-call/no-show is charged 50% once 15 minutes have passed without contact. Rescheduling is not allowed until any fee is paid, and clients with three or more late cancellations or reschedules within 48 hours may lose the ability to rebook. Illness, sickness or an emergency voids the policy if the salon is told as soon as possible.

The salon aims to make every guest feel at ease and self-assured. Pricing does not vary by gender, and gender-affirming services are offered.
