Sola Salons Tacoma

Sola Salons rents private salon studios to independent beauty professionals rather than employing stylists. Each franchise location is independently owned and operated, and the business says it has more than 750 locations across the U.S. and Canada and more than 20,000 independent business owner members. It also states it has worked with professionals for more than 20 years.

Each studio is a self-contained room equipped with premium cabinetry, a shampoo bowl and sink, and a styling chair. Individual studios have their own locked entry, and tenants receive a key to their suite. That lets them set their own work hours and keeps their supplies and equipment for their exclusive use.

Tenants pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi. They set their own service and product prices, choose which brands and products they sell, and keep all profits, including product sales. Sola Salons states it is not responsible for tenants' operations, employment or personnel matters, since each tenant runs an independent business.

Shared amenities vary by location but commonly include full-spectrum lighting, sound-insulated walls, instant hot water, a breakroom, janitorial services, on-site laundry, ventilation, on-site parking and building security. Some sites add tranquility zones, studio customizations or 24/7 building access. Access hours vary by location, so it is worth checking with the specific site.

The business's stated mission is to provide fully equipped salon studios that let independent professionals run their own businesses.

The studios are private, lockable rooms with sound-insulated walls and full-spectrum lighting.
