Every visit starts with a skin analysis of roughly 5 to 10 minutes, and the esthetician then adjusts products, exfoliation, extractions, massage and finishing care to the skin's condition, its sensitivity and the client's goals that day. Most facials include 5 to 15 minutes of neck, shoulder and arm massage. Treatment rooms are private, clients are not shared or rotated through partial sessions, and facials are not rushed. The team does not push products, series or memberships, and if a client books an advanced treatment their skin is not ready for, the esthetician suggests a better-suited option. Clients can choose a learning-focused session or a quiet one with little conversation, and can change their mind during the appointment.

Booking is online through Fresha, with a waitlist or a text to 857-240-9805 when no online time is open. Walk-ins are not accepted. First-time clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early and to complete an intake form emailed after booking. The building has no elevator, so clients concerned about stairs should contact the spa before booking. The spa leaves 30 minutes between appointments. Cancellations are requested at least 48 hours ahead, a 50% fee applies to later cancellations, and a missed appointment with no notice is charged in full. A credit card is required to confirm every booking. Under Massachusetts law a parent or guardian must be present for a client under 18. Clients who have had Botox or filler are asked to wait at least two weeks before a facial unless their provider advises otherwise, and clients who have taken Accutane are asked to contact the spa first. Pregnant and breastfeeding clients can have facials with products and treatments adjusted, though microneedling and certain peels are not recommended during pregnancy.

PemSpa uses the professional lines Circadia and Face Reality. Circadia is developed by chemist and esthetician Dr. Peter Pugliese and is used for aging concerns, hyperpigmentation, oxidative stress and longer-term results. Face Reality is a clinical acne system that requires esthetician certification to use. Products are sold only through licensed estheticians. Gift cards can be bought as digital cards, sent instantly or scheduled, or as postcard-sized physical cards, and are redeemed at checkout for facials, add-ons, retail products or gratuity. The spa serves clients from Newton, Brookline, Cambridge and the wider Boston area. It does not offer nail services, hair services or standalone massage.
