Christine's Day Spa & Electrolysis is a day spa in Newton Centre. It opened almost 30 years ago with electrolysis hair removal, founded by Christine Fordyce when she was 24, and about two years later it moved to its current home at 1280 Centre Street.

The menu has grown to cover facials, massage, body treatments, waxing, electrolysis and laser hair removal, special services such as lash and brow tints, medical spa treatments and spa packages. The spa says its staff are professionally trained in massage therapy, esthetics, skincare, electrolysis and laser hair removal, and that it chooses treatments it believes meet high safety standards and offer proven results.

The spa is closed on Mondays. It is open Tuesday to Thursday from 9am to 8pm, Friday from 9am to 4pm, Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Clients are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their appointment because parking in Newton Centre can be busy, and to silence phones before entering. Reservations are guaranteed with a credit card, and cancellations need 24 hours' notice to avoid being charged for the visit. Clients who run more than 10 minutes late may not receive the full service. Most guests leave a gratuity of 15 to 20 percent, which cannot be paid by credit card.

The boutique sells products in the spa and online, and gives 20 percent of all purchases to local charities. Gift cards can be bought by phone, in store or online, in amounts from $50 to $1,000.
