Maison COLLECTIVE

Maison Collective works by appointment only, Tuesday through Saturday, and is located in the West End of downtown San Rafael. Existing clients book directly with their own stylist through the stylist's booking menu. New clients use the contact form on the site and can expect a reply within 24 hours. The phone line is voicemail only.

The menu centers on color. Options range from full and half highlights, foilyage and balayage finished with custom toner or gloss, to grey coverage tints, face-frame highlights and toner refreshes for earlier highlights. Several stylists also cut and style hair, and combined color-and-cut services are listed at the bottom of the menu.

Extension work is offered by Angele Marie and Kara Lee. Options include hand-tied installations in single- and double-row styles, with or without color, tape-in extensions without color, and a halo layered option in an 18-inch length.

The shop sells Oribe, Sachajuan and Mane Ivy hair care, along with No.3 through No.7 bond-care products. The website also has a section for Clare V.

Parking is close by. An open lot is one block away where H Street and 4th Street meet, and both metered parking at $1.50 per hour and unmetered spaces are available on 4th Street and nearby streets.

Stylists begin with a consultation and build personalized plans, so color and cuts are tailored to each client rather than set from a single standard.
