Services are grouped into consultation, styling, cuts, color, add-ons and treatments. A consultation is a 15-minute one-on-one used to discuss hair goals, assess texture and needs, and choose services. Color clients need either a haircut appointment or a consultation if they are new to the salon, and hair should be washed one to two days before color services.

Color menu options range from a single process root retouch for grey coverage, which includes a blow dry, to full balayage or highlights with a haircut, which takes around four hours and needs upkeep every six to twelve months. Highlights and balayage start at 200 dollars and include toner or gloss. Haircuts cover pixie, bob and long layers, and barbering is scissor-over-comb short classic cutting without fades.

Booking is done online, with a credit card placed on hold rather than a deposit. Cancellations need 48 hours notice, and late cancellations are charged half the service price. Cancelling on the day or arriving more than 15 minutes late can be charged the full service price. Bang trims are not booked online; clients contact the salon directly or through the website form.

Parking differs by location. Pasadena has no public lots nearby, but free street parking is available on Altadena Drive and nearby streets. In Chinatown there is an inexpensive paid lot attached to Mandarin Plaza and metered street parking on Broadway, and Salon Dolly is about a five-minute walk from the Chinatown stop on the Metro A Line.

Services are presented as inclusive and tailored to each client, with no gendered menu.
