The Honey Comb Hair Studio calls itself a small, intimate salon with a focus on color. Its specialties are balayage, blonding, dimensional color, gray coverage and color correction, and its menu also covers haircuts for men, women and children, blowouts and formal styling, and treatments for damaged or chemically processed hair.
Every service starts with a consultation, and the final quote is given at that consultation before any work begins. For chemical services, a strand test may be recommended to see how the hair responds and to help predict results. Hair length and density can add to the price of color services, since they take more time and product. Vivid colors and color correction are quoted at the time of booking after a consultation, and corrective work is often spread across several sessions, with the salon sometimes suggesting one issue is fixed at a time. Clarifying treatment is recommended before coloring, straightening or perms.
The salon's goal is healthy, good-looking hair, and it teaches clients how to care for their hair between visits. It aims to use cruelty-free, nontoxic products as much as possible. The space is described as relaxing and welcoming. Parking is available in The Academy Parking Lot at 45 N Catalina Ave.
The salon is open by appointment only, seven days a week. Clients can book by phone at 626-365-1105 or by email at thc.hairstudio@gmail.com. Payment is accepted by cash, Zelle, debit card and credit card. Visa and MasterCard payments carry a 2% service fee, and American Express and Discover payments carry a 3% service fee.
Recommendations are meant to be honest and professional, with healthy hair as the priority. Each service begins with a consultation so the plan and price are settled before work starts.
