Figueroa St. The studio describes its mission as encouraging artistic self-expression by blending beauty and music, and it calls its experience a curated one for artists and creative professionals, drawing on its heritage of hair and music.

Sherry Younge has owned and operated the studio since 2005. The team includes stylists and barbers with different strengths, from curly cuts and color to fades, precision cuts, blonding and creative color.

Appointments are confirmed by the stylist, who may reach out to the client before booking is final. Consultations are free. The studio is open every day from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Some services, including color appointments with Milah Sumiko, new-client bookings with Cynthia Navarrete and extension applications, require a deposit before the appointment.

Artform Academy offers hands-on courses in haircuts, hair color and hairstyling for both professionals and clients. Courses are held at the studio and can be tailored, and online or on-location sessions are arranged by phone. Sessions start at $150 for about one hour.

The studio also offers a repurposing service that turns long or short sleeve t-shirts into new tops by shortening sleeves, recutting necklines, adding designs or cropping the hem, with no sewing. The service costs $7 to $10 per top, depending on detail.
