Jessica opened LAB Salon in 2017 after moving back from the west coast, where she spent almost eight years working for companies including MAC and MAKEUP FOREVER. The salon says it was built around luxury, artistry and beauty and aims for a welcoming feel, and it describes its space as relaxed.

Hair extensions and lived-in color are the core of the work. Extension services are hand-tied and come in options for fullness, length, or both, and they are designed with the health of the scalp and hair in mind. New color clients and extension clients are each asked to complete a consultation form before booking. Color services include all-over color from $92 to $138, root touch-ups from $62 to $80, and custom blonding, which starts at $72 for a 30 to 60 minute session and at $195 for a 90 to 120 minute session. Root smudge plus gloss is offered with a blowout for $92 or with a haircut for $105.

Beyond color, the menu covers women's haircuts, blowouts, a haircut with signature treatment, a K18 repair and protect treatment, and texture services such as the Brazilian Blowout and the American Wave. The salon also sells hair products and offers brow and lash services. Hours run Tuesday from 11AM to 6PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 10AM to 7PM, Friday from 11AM to 4PM and Saturday from 9AM to 3PM; the salon is closed Sunday and Monday. Cancellations and changes need 48 hours notice, and cancellations made without that notice are charged 50% of the scheduled service. No-shows are charged the full scheduled service. A credit or debit card must be kept on file, since prepaid and gift cards are not accepted for this. Children are not permitted in the salon unless they have an appointment with a stylist. Clients get a 15 minute grace period for late arrivals, after which the full selected services may not be possible. Cancellations and rescheduling are requested by email or through the link sent by text.

Uses only cruelty-free, high-quality products, including R+Co, Oligo and K18, looks for sustainable practices, and designs its hair extension services with scalp and hair health in mind.
