The salon builds its work around healthy hair and genuine, human experiences. The aim is for clients to leave feeling good, accepted and looked after, and free to be themselves. Sustainability runs through its approach, and the salon describes its team as the city's top stylists.

Most services are billed at a flat hourly rate, which the salon says removes the need to tip and makes pricing more transparent and sustainable for stylists and clients. Each stylist sets their own rate, between $120 and $130 an hour. Perms, smoothing treatments and bang trims are priced outside the standard hourly rate, and a $50 test strand for perms is applied to the total cost of the service. Color correction and vivid or fashion color are quoted after a consultation.

On the sustainability side, the salon works with Green Circles to recycle hair, foils, color tubes and plastics. It also uses EcoHeads shampoo bowls, which the salon says cut water and energy use by 65 percent and filter out sediment, rust and sand, and EcoHeads mixers, which it says reduce chemical waste by 20 percent.

The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday from 12 to 6 pm and Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday. A silent service can be requested when booking or at consultation. A credit card must be kept on file to reserve an appointment. Cancelling with less than 48 hours' notice is charged at 50 percent of the quoted price, same-day cancellations at 75 percent, and a no-call, no-show at 100 percent. There is a 15-minute grace period, after which late arrivals are rescheduled and charged the applicable cancellation fee. One guest may accompany a client, but space is limited and groups are not allowed.

An express 45-minute dry cut on clean, dry hair with little to no product, an extended 60-minute version with more time for detail or major changes, and bang trims for existing clients.
