Kelsie started working as a hairdresser in 2005 after training at the cosmetology program at TVCC Junior College. Her first full-time role was at a Redken Elite Salon. She learned extension work while working hair show booths for a clip-in extension line, receiving extensions in exchange for that work. She opened her first solo studio in 2011.
The work centers on lived-in color and hair extensions. Color options run from a hairline-only refresh and single-process color to a partial sun-kissed highlight and a full all-over balayage finished with gloss. Blowouts include a shampoo, scalp massage, conditioning treatment and blowdry, with a version designed for extension clients. A Brazilian Blowout, a semi-permanent smoothing treatment, is offered for shine and frizz control.
Extension services include hand-tied and tape-in installs, custom sew-in wefts to add length, fullness or corrective placement, and a Klub Kelsie membership for extension clients. Booking an extension appointment requires a non-refundable retainer of 50% of the estimated initial cost, and maintenance visits should be kept every 6 to 8 weeks. Extension consultations start with a consultation form as a preliminary screen. Approximate pricing is sent by email or text, and an in-person consultation is needed for detailed costs and color matching.
