The group now owns several full-service salons, Northwest 1st Natural Hair College, and the Loc Journey line of loc products. The salons care for natural hair from straight type 1 textures to hair beyond 4C, and offer curly haircuts and styles, help with heat challenge, and care for biracial children's hair.
Consultations are required for all new clients and for all color services. Some services can be booked online, but appointments that take two hours or more must be scheduled by phone at 206-723-1115 during business hours. A $100 booking deposit is applied to the service cost and is not refunded if the client does not attend. Prices vary by stylist level, and Master Stylist services are priced separately. Clients must bring their own hair for any braid service, all sales are final, and Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Free parking is available at every location. Federal Way services are performed by students.
Stylists and students are trained to care for both natural and chemically treated hair. The group also runs a Full Loc Course, a continuing education program covering starter locs, maintenance, crochet, extensions, repair, reattachment, resizing, thinning correction and wicks, and a cosmetology program covering haircutting, color, styling, textured and natural hair, locs, braiding, nails and skin care.
Hours are Monday to Friday 10 am to 7 pm, closed Wednesdays, Saturday 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 6:30 pm. The salon serves Tacoma, Everett, Fife, Auburn, Olympia, Seattle, Burien and surrounding cities.
Stylists and students are trained to care for both natural and chemically treated hair, with a focus on natural textures of every kind.
The group describes its salons and schools as professional and inviting.
