The salon says its mission is to work with all types and textures of hair so that it can serve a broad range of clients. It describes wanting to be a welcoming, safe space for every guest. The menu covers braids, locs and twists, color, haircuts for all ages, smoothing treatments, extensions, bridal styling and everyday styling. Haircuts are priced by length and time. Extension services, bridal services, and first-time relaxer, perm and Brazilian Blowout appointments need a consultation first. Hair for extensions is not included in the price and can be bought through the salon after the consultation. Texture also teaches. Cornrow 101 is a beginner class on cornrowing and basic designs, held about once a month, and Cornrow Masters builds on it with extension hair, sectioning for box braids and other styles. Both classes are for ages 13 and up and need pre-registration, with tools, materials and mannequins provided. Private one-on-one cornrow lessons are also available. The Care-4-Curls & Coils lesson is a three-hour session for parents of children with curly or coily hair, or for anyone caring for their own curls, and a four-hour package adds a curly haircut and extra styling practice. The salon says it was awarded the Youth Arts Grant from the City of Seattle and plans to use it for more hair classes and resources for young people. Lessons and bookings are available Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 6:00pm.
