HeadCase, based in Tacoma, opened in 2017. Jocelyn and a fellow stylist founded it, and Jocelyn now runs it with Marsay "Bravo." According to the salon, its mission centres on building community, supporting personal growth and adopting sustainable habits, alongside good hair care and other salon treatments.

Clients can book online through the website. Four stylists work at the salon, so clients are asked to confirm they are booked with their chosen stylist before confirming an appointment. Haircuts are not included with color services and are listed and booked separately. Consultations are required for new color and loc clients, and a free 15-minute consultation is available in person or by phone. Clients are asked to send a photo of their current hair before booking, and to give 24 hours' notice for in-person consultations to avoid a cancellation fee. The salon is open Monday and Sunday 9am to 3pm, Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 6pm, and Friday and Saturday 10am to 6pm. The phone number is 253-337-6752.

Color work covers foil highlights, partial and full balayage, single process color, bleach and tone, toner, fashion color and color correction. Dreadlock services include crochet locs and maintenance, and braided synthetic locs. The salon also offers a Brazilian blowout smoothing treatment, which the salon says lasts up to 12 weeks, along with perms and clarifying treatments.

Lash extensions are offered in classic, hybrid, volume and mega volume styles, with fills, full sets and removal. Barber services include beard work, head shaves and clipper cuts. The salon rents open booths to stylists and sells seven hair care products for clients to use at home.

According to the salon, the aim is for each client to leave in a better mood than when they arrived. The business also wants people from every background, whether staff, guests or neighbours, to feel at home there, and it tries to choose environmentally conscious products and materials.

The salon describes itself as having a diverse environment and a distinct salon culture.
