Guests check in at the front desk and can walk in, or join the waitlist through Online Check-In to see an estimated wait. Online Check-In is not an appointment, and it cannot be used for perms or formal updos. Haircuts begin with a short consultation with the stylist. Guests can bring in a look from the salon's lookbook to guide that conversation. Clip Notes keeps technical notes on each guest's previous cuts at Great Clips salons, so any stylist in the chain can pick up where a previous visit left off.

Hours are Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM, with evening and weekend hours offered. The salon does not offer hair coloring. Guests with concerns about a service or product are asked to speak with the salon staff, since the chain guarantees satisfaction.

The salon takes part in several community programs. Clips of Kindness offers complimentary clipper cuts for people undergoing cancer treatment, and on Veterans Day the salon offers free haircuts or haircut cards to service members and veterans through the Thank a Veteran program.
