Hair Space opened in 2018 in North Charleston and was founded by Leslie G, who is also its owner and senior stylist. Color is the core of the work, and the salon uses Kevin Murphy Color.Me exclusively for its color services. Offerings range from single process color and color touch-ups to all over color, partial and full highlights, and balayage with a face framing option.

The space is intimate and comfortable, with relaxed, welcoming service. Clients can book a free consultation through the online booking site. The salon places weight on education for both its stylists and its clients, and hosts demos and workshops for hairstylists and clients. Private workshops and shadow days are arranged by email.

Policies are set out clearly. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 48 hours' notice; later cancellations are charged 50% of the scheduled services, and same-day cancellations and no-shows are charged 100%. Guests 15 or more minutes late may have their finishing style changed or skipped, and guests 20 or more minutes late may have their booked services changed. Hair service concerns must be raised by phone within 48 hours of the appointment, and refunds are not offered for hair services. Prices depend on hair length and density and may change, and color pricing does not include a haircut.

Education comes first, both for the stylists who work at the salon and for the clients who sit in the chair.
