Grand Central Hair Design

Kathy Gillman opened Grand Central Hair Design in 2002 and ran it for twenty years before ownership passed to Maegahn Schreiter, who is the current owner. The salon has served clients since it opened.

The menu covers cuts, color, balayage, treatments and extensions, with extensions and waxing also available as add-ons. The team includes color specialists, a stylist who works with natural curls and is Deva Curl-certified, and stylists who offer men's, women's and children's cuts. Prices are listed by stylist, so the cost of a cut depends on who you book with.

New clients can submit a request form describing their current color and style, how often they like to maintain it, and how soon they need an appointment. Within seven days of a visit, clients can contact their stylist to arrange an adjustment if something is not working. Seating in the reception area is limited, so guests are asked to plan accordingly.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice carry a 50% fee, and a missed appointment carries a 100% fee. Any cancellation fee must be paid before another appointment can be scheduled. The salon accepts cash, check and credit card, and card payments include an automatic 3.5% surcharge from the card company. Hours are Monday 9 to 4, Tuesday through Thursday 9 to 7, Friday 9 to 4 and Saturday 9 to 1, with Sundays closed.
