Bridal work is a major focus, though clients also book makeup for events, photoshoots, teen occasions and everyday glamour, as well as facials, brows and waxing.
Bridal clients start with a complimentary consultation to plan their looks. A two-hour Bridal Pre-Trial follows, covering wedding makeup along with a skin and brow consultation; the pre-trial is not required but is strongly recommended. The main packages bundle the consultation, pre-trial and a makeup enhancement that includes a mini facial, the chosen makeup application, mink lashes and a touch-up kit, with a Honeymoon Pack added. The Deluxe package adds a signature look for bridal shower or engagement photos, and the Platinum package includes a signature look for engagement photos and the shower. Bridal services require a signed contract, and a $200 non-refundable retainer is due when the contract is completed. Packages cannot be changed, extra people are booked a la carte, and travel is included within a 20-mile radius of Birmingham with additional mileage charged by venue. Temporary specials cannot be combined with bridal packages or collections.
Beyond bridal, the studio offers the 1125 Blend, a personalized application for events, photoshoots or everyday wear. The Junior Luxe Experience is designed for high school students, and the Petite Blend is a soft, natural look for teens 14 and younger. The VIP Makeup Experience takes place outside regular business hours at a time the client picks, and Glow On The Go brings the artist to the client's location. Beauty Haul Concierge pairs clients with an artist for a personalized cosmetics shopping experience, and the JSA Shopping Trip is a one-hour product selection trip at Sephora, Ulta or both. The studio also sells the JSA Makeup Guide, a curated set of products chosen for a makeup kit.
Facial options include the Radiance Revival, Crystal Glow Rejuvenation, Smooth Silk Renewal and Love Me Back facials, the last of which is a back facial. Brow services cover waxing and shaping, tinting and lamination. Waxing covers the face, underarms, legs, bikini and Brazilian areas, the peach (butt), and the Vajacial. For those who want to learn, a one-on-one makeup training session lasts three hours and covers the fundamentals of application, with brushes and products provided if needed. A four-hour Makeup Artist Training class covers product knowledge, brush technique, skin preparation, eyebrows, eye makeup, foundation matching, application, highlighting and contouring. The studio is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, and is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Work is built around each client, and the studio pairs its appointments with teaching through one-on-one lessons and a training class.
