Nicole A. Cullinan opened Boston Color Group in Watertown in 2004. The salon sits on Mt Auburn Street in Watertown Square and serves Watertown and greater Boston, with clients ranging from women and men to children. About

Color is the core of the work. The salon uses L'Oreal Professional color only, a choice Nicole A. Cullinan made after reviewing eleven color lines. Corrective color is always planned from a consultation with the stylist, and a free consultation is offered and recommended before booking. Other services include corrective cutting, foiling, balayage and trend techniques, family haircuts and styling, and Olaplex in-salon treatments.

For weddings, proms and other special occasions, the salon offers formal styling. Pre-booking is suggested. Walk-ins are accepted but cannot always be accommodated. Blow dries are not included with every service, so clients should ask when booking. Prices shown on the site are starting points: haircuts from $41, haircut with blowout from $51, wash and blowout from $34, hair color from $59, balayage from $121, and Brazilian Blowout at $326 (express version $136).

Rescheduling needs 24 hours notice. Late cancellations and no-shows carry fees of $40 for a first occurrence, $60 for a second and $100 for a third, and repeated missed appointments may require a deposit before future bookings. The salon accepts cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover, and sells gift cards. It is kid friendly and offers WiFi. Hours are Tuesday by appointment only, Wednesday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Color is chosen with care: after comparing eleven lines, the salon settled on L'Oreal Professional and uses it exclusively.
