Black Sheep Salon

Black Sheep Salon is a hair salon in Long Beach that brings together several independent stylists under one roof. Each stylist runs as an individual business, so prices and the services on offer depend on who you book. Appointments are made through the salon's GlossGenius booking page, and general questions can be emailed to blacksheepsalonlbc@gmail.com. Gift cards are sold through the online booking shop.

The salon has a sliding scale option for dry cuts, starting at $50, and sliding scale services can be requested through a form on the services page. Openings for sliding scale appointments are posted on Instagram stories the day before they become available. Buy Now, Pay Later is offered for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Children's haircuts are priced the same regardless of the child's age.

For clients with tight curly hair, the salon provides a 30-day detox guide to help prepare for a first appointment. The guide suggests a simple weekly routine of washing, conditioning, detangling and styling, and recommends clarifying shampoo no more than once every six weeks. It also advises stopping the use of raw oils and butters and styling with water-soluble products. Product suggestions in the guide include Malibu Un-Doo Goo, AG Naturals Balance and Boost, a Felicia Leatherwood detangling brush, Uncle Funky's Curly Magic for wash and go styles, and The Doux Mousse Def for twist outs and braid outs.
