Black Cherry Hair co. is a hair salon in Fredericksburg, Virginia, open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and closed Monday and Tuesday. Walk-ins are not accepted, so every visit is booked in advance, and services are offered to guests 13 and up.

Color is the main focus. Services are grouped into Color Services, Cutting/styling and Color analysis. Color Services run from a tonal refresh with styling and root refreshes to partial and full highlights or lowlights, a transformative blonding service for clients with little or no previous highlights who want to go much lighter, and a freestyle creative color appointment that adds a fashion color overlay and a complimentary haircut. Root-to-end lightening with fashion color requires a color consultation first to set the timing, and that consultation is complimentary.

The color analysis service takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and uses a 16-palette system to find colors that suit each client, including metallics and hair colors. Clients are asked to arrive without makeup, self tanner or colored contacts, or the appointment may be rescheduled. A couples package lets two people share one color analysis session in about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Cutting and styling includes bang trims for existing fringe, a shampoo and blowdry, and a haircut with shampoo and blowdry.

A visit includes free parking in the lot, Wi-Fi, complimentary drinks and snacks, and a TV. The salon is wheelchair accessible. Space is limited, so only guests receiving services stay in the room, and seating outside is available for anyone waiting. Clients can browse a portfolio of 35 looks and open any photo to see the services behind it.

Booking policies are set out clearly. Clients should reschedule at least 48 hours ahead to avoid a 50% cancellation fee or loss of the deposit, and changes made within 48 hours carry the same charge. Arriving more than 15 minutes late may also bring a 50% fee, or the appointment may be shortened if time allows. No-show clients are not invited to rebook. An online waitlist lets clients pick a preferred time of day and up to 10 dates or a date range. Gift certificates from $10 to $1,000 can be sent by email or text, now or on a chosen date. They do not expire, are final and non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
