Vanessa founded Bee Pretty in 2012. The first studio opened in downtown Charleston in March 2024, and in-studio skin services started that same month alongside the makeup work.
Bridal makeup is done on location, with an optional in-studio skincare add-on. Clients book a bridal preview, which is optional but strongly recommended and is booked one to six months ahead. Bridal bookings need a signed contract and a $300 non-refundable deposit, and an 18% gratuity is added to the final invoice. Weddings from Friday through Sunday need a four-person minimum unless the start time is 3 PM or later, and extra fees may apply for call times before 8 AM or on major US holidays. Makeup is scheduled in 45-minute slots. Services can be added to a bridal proposal but not removed, and the final headcount is confirmed closer to the date. Hair is not done in house and is provided through partner Amy Loope. Large parties can be accommodated, with an assistant brought in when needed.
Skin and brow services are offered in the studio. Facials and peels range from a starter teen facial to a chemical peel that needs no downtime, with a pregnancy-safe option, and a Green Sea Peel for clients who want an alternative to chemical peels. Microchanneling starts with a consultation. The Brow Lab is a pop-up brow event that can be hosted at a client's home or office with a minimum of six attendants. Commercial and editorial bookings and group lesson rates are handled by email.
Makeup is delivered on location for weddings and events, with in-studio skincare that can be booked ahead so skin is prepared before the day.
