The practice was founded in fall 2007 as Cedar Park Surgeons by husband-and-wife surgeons Alan Abando, MD and Nicole Basa, MD. It started in a small rented office beside the Cedar Park hospital and later moved into its own building. The surgical side now also operates as B+A Surgeons, and the aesthetics side is known as B+A Medical Aesthetics.

Medical aesthetic treatments began in 2018, first for post-surgical patients, after the surgeons completed specialized aesthetics training. B+A Medical Aesthetics became a stand-alone clinic in 2020. The surgeons together report more than 3,000 bariatric procedures between them.

All of the Cedar Park office's staff work in one building: surgeons, registered dietitians, a physician assistant, aestheticians, lab technicians and patient coordinators. Support groups, counseling, lab work, testing and exercise physiology are also offered on site.

The Cedar Park main office and the aesthetics office at Suite 2 are both open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and closed on weekends. The Austin location at Avery Ranch Blvd handles surgical appointments only, by appointment. The surgery line is (512) 260-3444 and the aesthetics line is (512) 384-1920. The practice describes itself as a comprehensive healthcare facility and says it uses advanced technology and current research in its care.

Surgeons, dietitians, a physician assistant and lab and testing staff work as one team, and the practice says it values compassion, quality, support and comfort in care. Every aesthetic treatment is customized to the patient.
