Dr. Tara

Dr. Tara founded GenWell Integrative Acupuncture in Somers, New York, and she practices there. Acupuncture is her second career, following time spent in corporate culture. Her acupuncture studies began in 2008 at Pacific College of Health and Science. She holds the credentials DAIM and L.Ac. Her further training includes contemporary medical acupuncture at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, studied under Dr. Alejandro Elorriaga Claraco, and a doctoral degree in integrative medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Much of her clinical work involves the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, covering chronic and acute pain, nerve pain, neuropathies, headaches and migraines. Beyond those areas, she provides whole-person care for stress, sleep, digestion and hormonal health, and treats GI problems, menopausal symptoms, alopecia, depression and anxiety. She is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Hours are Tuesday 12:00 to 5:00 PM, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Saturday 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with Friday visits arranged in advance.
