Dr. Melissa Bender

Dr. Melissa Bender is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Face Forward. She is double board-certified, in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and in head and neck surgery. Her cosmetic work spans the face and neck and also includes non-surgical facial optimization and hair restoration. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned her Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Her internship and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery took place at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During that training she was selected for a humanitarian trip to the Philippines to perform cleft lip and palate repairs. A fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under Dr. Edward Buckingham in Austin, Texas came next. She has travelled abroad for advanced hair restoration training and has also trained with several surgeons across the country. Memberships include the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Houston Society of Otolaryngology and the Texas Medical Association.
