Her practice spans laser, cosmetic, surgical and aesthetic dermatology, with a particular focus on longevity care. She treats medical skin conditions and cosmetic goals alike. She personally performs every neuromodulator and filler injection and has been injecting for more than 25 years. She earned a BA in English from Barnard College, followed by an MA and a certificate in science writing from NYU. She received her MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 1992. She holds certification from the American Board of Dermatology, has held a New York State medical license since 1993, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Clients receive a year-long treatment plan that includes a calendar, developed after a full facial assessment and covering skincare, an at-home routine and in-office procedures. She supervises NYU dermatology residents at Bellevue, leads injection training, and teaches soft tissue filler, laser and facial rejuvenation techniques to physicians. She lectures in the US and abroad. She helped develop the Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale and led its 2004 validation study, and she co-authored two international consensus papers from 2016 on combining aesthetic treatments. Her CV lists 40 peer-reviewed publications. She is the author of four books: 100 Questions and Answers About Acne, Forget the Facelift, Beyond Beautiful and Rebooting the Biome.
