Doris Day, MD, FAAD, MA, founded Day Dermatology & Aesthetics on the Upper East Side. She has been board certified by the American Board of Dermatology since 1998 and has held a New York State medical license since 1993. Her Clinical Professor of Dermatology appointment at NYU Grossman School of Medicine dates from 2024 and builds on NYU faculty service that began in 1998. Since 1998 she has worked as an attending dermatologist at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital, where she supervises and trains NYU dermatology residents. She holds a BA in English from Barnard College (1984), an MA and a certificate in science writing and journalism from New York University (1988), and an MD from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine (1992). After an internal medicine internship at NYU/Bellevue Hospital, she completed a dermatology residency at Cornell University/The New York Hospital from 1995 to 1998, where she was chief resident. She gives every neuromodulator and filler injection herself. She trains physicians in soft tissue filler, laser and facial rejuvenation techniques and lectures across the US and internationally. She has hosted the Cosmetic Radio skin show on SiriusXM Doctor Radio since 2008. She has served on medical advisory boards and training panels for Allergan, Valeant, Galderma, Merz and others, advises skin care and aesthetic device companies, and co-founded Rapalogix Health, Inc. Her books are 100 Questions and Answers About Acne (2004), Beyond Beautiful (2018, with Jodie Gould) and Rebooting the Biome (2023, with Thomas M. Hitchcock, PhD). Her CV lists 40 peer-reviewed publications. She has sat on the American Academy of Dermatology Nominating Committee since 2025. Her memberships include the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women's Dermatologic Society, the NY State Dermatology Society, the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society and the American Honors Society of Dental and Facial Aesthetics. Newsweek and Statista placed her third on the 2022 America's Best Cosmetic Dermatologists list and third on the 2023 cosmetic dermatologists list. She has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2004 and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2023.
