Your Actual Self, often shortened to Y.A.S., is a Sacramento business offering gender-affirming hair, makeup and style coaching. It serves trans, nonbinary and neurodivergent clients.

Services are by appointment only. Salon hours are Tuesdays noon to 5pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays noon to 9pm, and Fridays noon to 8pm. Retail advocacy and personal coaching can be booked seven days a week. Every service starts with an in-depth consultation covering a client's needs, lifestyle, goals, limitations and wishes, followed by a plan. New clients complete an online questionnaire before booking a first appointment.

Pricing is set by the actual work and time involved, with no upselling.

Pay It Forward helps people facing financial hardship reach salon or coaching services and gender-affirming care. Places are first come, first served and decided case by case, with one use per person every six to 12 months or as availability allows, on an honor system.
