Wild Folk is a private studio in downtown Royal Oak. Its founding view is that beauty belongs to everyone, and it welcomes people of every gender without judgment.

Each haircut starts with a short consultation so the cut can be planned, and clients are welcome to bring photos. Services include short and long haircuts, a curly haircut, dramatic length changes, a quick braid, blowouts, a wash-and-go style and an Olaplex add-on. Kids' cuts are priced by age group, with a 20-minute cut for ages 0 to 5 and a 30-minute cut for ages 6 to 12. A bang trim and clean-up is also offered. The salon says its products are high-quality and environmentally friendly.

Online bookings are treated as requests, and the salon may email to adjust timing or confirm services. Confirmations go out by email and text, and clients should get in touch if neither arrives within 24 hours. Appointments can be rescheduled up to 24 hours before the booked time. Cancellations are requested at least 24 hours ahead, and emergencies on shorter notice should be emailed to the salon. Silent appointments are available on request and should be noted when booking.

For parking, the salon recommends South Lafayette Parking at 514 S. Lafayette Ave. or the Center Street Garage at 300 S. Center St. Street parking can be paid through the Park Mobile app. On-street spaces have a 3-hour limit and surface lots have a 4-hour limit. Staying past the limit results in a ticket, and extra time cannot be paid for or added.
