Wendy has been a hairstylist for over 40 years and says she has a strong following, which she partly attributes to her work with curly hair. Haircuts come as a full cut with wash and style, or as a dry cut that needs pre-approval. Color ranges from partial touch-ups and tints to highlights, often combined with a cut.
Existing clients book by texting the studio. New clients are asked to text a photo of their hair as they usually wear it, along with any inspiration pictures, before booking. Cancellations and reschedules need 48 hours notice, and shorter-notice cancellations, no-shows and late arrivals are charged the fee for the reserved time. Future appointments cannot be booked until outstanding fees are paid.
According to the studio, 5% of its income goes to eight organizations: PBS, Planned Parenthood, Welcoming Home, the San Francisco Marin Food Bank, North Marin Community Services, DonorsChoose.org, NRDC and the ACLU. The studio also earns a commission on Innersense products bought through a link on its website.
Wendy welcomes challenging hair and aims for clients to love the result, and she keeps learning through courses by instructors she admires.
