Visits are walk-in friendly. Guests check in at the front desk, and Online Check-In can be used to join a waitlist with estimated wait times, though it is not a booking. Online Check-In does not cover perms or formal updos. Guests who want a particular stylist can say so at check-in, which may lengthen the wait. Each visit starts with a consultation with the stylist.

The salon keeps Clip Notes, a record of the technical details of earlier haircuts, so any stylist on the team can pick up a returning guest's cut. Guests can also browse the chain's haircut lookbook online before coming in.

The salon offers a wide range of haircut prices, from children's and senior cuts to trims for beards, necks and bangs. Prices and services can differ by location and are subject to change, and taxes and fees may apply. Coupons are set by each franchisee, so it is worth calling ahead to confirm one is accepted. Senior discount availability varies, so guests should ask the salon.

Great Clips participates in several community programs. Clips of Kindness offers complimentary clipper cuts for people undergoing cancer treatment. The salon does not offer hair coloring. Regular hours run Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, Saturday from 8:30 AM to 3 PM, and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM. The salon is hiring hair stylists, and applications can be submitted online or in person.

Each visit opens with a consultation, and stylists share technical records through Clip Notes so a returning guest's cut can continue from where it left off.
