About

Wall Dermatology was started by Weston Wall, MD, and the practice describes itself as physician-owned, family-founded and locally owned. It was set up by a local family to look after families in the surrounding community. The practice is based at 1700 66th St N, Suite 300, in St. Petersburg, and serves patients there and across the Tampa Bay area.

The medical side covers skin cancer care, including Mohs surgery, skin cancer screenings and mole and spot checks. It also treats acne, rosacea, rashes, eczema and psoriasis, offers hair loss evaluations and pediatric skin care, and removes cysts, lesions, warts and skin tags in the office. Medical visits begin with a diagnosis before any treatment is chosen. For Mohs, the practice removes the tumor along with a thin layer of surrounding tissue under local anesthesia, while the patient stays awake. The tissue is prepared and checked under a microscope in an on-site lab during the same visit, and further layers come out only where cancer cells remain. The practice states that its Mohs cure rates reach up to 99 percent for appropriately selected skin cancers. Visits usually take a half day, so patients should plan for two to four hours or more depending on the number of stages. Reconstruction is planned from the start and is often done by Dr. Wall at the same visit when suitable, with options that include direct closure, flap reconstruction, skin grafts, or healing without surgical closure.

The cosmetic side begins with a consultation for each plan. Injectables include Botox, Dysport and Daxxify, along with dermal fillers such as Sculptra and RADIESSE, and filler dissolving. The skin and med spa menu includes laser resurfacing, microneedling, chemical peels and med spa facials. Microneedling can be enhanced with PRP or exosomes. Facials are performed by the in-house esthetician, who designs each client's program around their skin needs and goals, and listed options include the Signature Facial at $125, the Platinum Facial at $200 and the ZO 3-Step Peel at $300, with add-ons such as LED light therapy and dermaplaning. Surgical cosmetic options include facelift, upper blepharoplasty and scar revision. Cosmetic treatments are self-pay and are not billed to insurance. A dermatologist is in the building for facials that need more medical attention.

Hours are Monday 8 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday 8 AM to 5 PM, Wednesday 8 AM to 6 PM, Thursday 8 AM to 5 PM and Friday 8 AM to 4 PM, with the office closed on weekends. Appointments can be booked online or by calling 727-606-9255. The practice accepts most major plans, including Medicare, Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue PPO, Humana, United, Tricare East and other listed plans for medical and surgical care. Staff will check coverage before a visit when a patient calls, and patients whose plan is not listed can call to ask. Most patients do not need a referral, though some HMO plans require one from a primary care physician. According to the practice, same-week appointments are often open for concerning spots.

Focuses on listening, educating and guiding patients, with recommendations personalized rather than one-size-fits-all. Medical care is grounded in diagnosis before treatment, and cosmetic plans start with a consultation.
