The spa describes its work as medical-grade and customized, and says its procedures are performed by a master aesthetician with more than 25 years of experience. Consultations with a medical aesthetician cost $35, in person or virtually, and that fee is applied toward the treatment you choose. Virtual consultations are one-on-one online advice that can include product recommendations.

A visit usually starts with a professional skin assessment. Facials are adjusted for comfort, safety and skin goals, and the spa has facial approaches for sensitive, acne-prone, dry, oily, mature and rosacea-prone skin. The customized facial begins with an analysis before any products or techniques are chosen. There is also a facial for teens aged 13 to 17, where a parent or guardian's consent may be needed for minors.

The menu is broad. Chemical peels include VI Peel, PCA peels, the Enlighten peel for pigmentation and the lactic acid No-Peel Peel. Jet Peel, which uses needle-free transdermal technology, is also offered for scalp exfoliation. Radiofrequency options include E-Matrix, Sublime and a combined Sublime and sublative treatment for the face and neck. Fraxel 1550 laser is used for stretch marks, scarring and the face, neck, hands and decollete. Body services include body peels, bioslimming, stretch mark treatment, TruSculpt iD fat reduction and an infrared sauna. The spa states that TruSculpt iD is FDA-cleared.

Several packages and bundles are listed with discounts; the spa says Letizia Ciruolo curates its featured bundles. Some treatments carry rules: stop retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and strong exfoliants before most appointments, avoid sun exposure, and wait 30 days after Botox or fillers before some services. Hydrafacial is not offered to people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and the cancellation policy notes a possible fee for late cancellations.

Venus Spa's studio is on the lower level of the building that houses the East Boston Post Office, reached by a staircase. Clients who find stairs difficult can call the spa to ask for help or to arrange another option. Free client parking is behind the building on Havre Street, and street parking is available on Meridian Street and the nearby side streets. Opening hours are 10 AM to 6 PM on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 12 PM to 6 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 11 AM to 6 PM on Wednesdays.
