Veer & Wander was founded by Connie McGrath and is modeled on the traditional apothecary. The business goes by the motto Don't be Toxic, and the salon says that having fun is the best non-toxic beauty regimen.

The salon and store share the Brady Street location. Color services include a blow-dry in the price, and the salon asks clients to allow extra time to find street parking on weekday afternoons. Hours are Wednesday to Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm, and clients are asked to call for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Color work uses Davines and Kevin.Murphy products. Cezanne keratin smoothing treatments come in classic, express, blonde and ultimate blonde versions. The ultimate blonde version is formulated for blonde hair and uses a blue-violet pigment to reduce brassy shades, while the express version is designed for color-treated hair and lasts up to 10 weeks.

Extension services cover installing, reusing and removing extensions, each with its own consultation. Online, the shop sells Davines Essential Haircare and other third-party brands, and orders of $70 or more ship free.
