True Story Salon

True Story Salon is a hair salon in Kansas City's East Crossroads neighborhood, at 1700 Locust Street, Suite 200. It was formerly known as Opal & Orchid. The salon is a shared space for independent stylists with different specialties, who work alongside one another and support each other.

Hair services include haircuts, dimensional color and everyday styling. The salon also offers on-location event styling, where a stylist travels to a home, hotel or venue. Wedding and special event hair is available for groups of any size, including bridal parties, and clients can book a personalized consultation to plan a look for an event, from updos to curls.

The salon works with clients on larger color changes, such as moving from blonde to red, covering gray or embracing it, and other bold changes. Each stylist manages their own clients and bookings through a personal booking page, and clients can also call the salon directly. Wedding and event inquiries and general questions go to the owner, Jessica Rodriquez.

The salon brings together independent stylists with distinct specialties under a shared respect for the craft and mutual support.

The space has plenty of natural light and an artistic feel.
