The salon's approach treats hair like fabric and stylists like tailors, with a stated commitment to creativity, individuality and excellence. New clients are matched with a stylist through an online survey that asks about hair goals, challenges, style and personality. Each service is tailored to the client's hair texture, history and goals. For major color changes or color correction, clients book a complimentary consultation before scheduling.

Education is central to the business. Prep School is a one-year cosmetology program taught hands-on by the salon's Education Team, led by Penny Strasser-Tuckel. Apprentices are paid while working in one of the three salons, attend free weekly classes, and get one-on-one mentoring from senior stylists. The curriculum includes balayage, air touch highlights, signature color, precision cuts and shag cuts, with classes held at the Kansas City location. Stylists take monthly training and continuing education within the salon. According to the salon, it is among very few salons that run an in-house education program.

The Holistic Head Spa, available at the Kansas City location only, is a 60 to 90 minute session that includes a scalp analysis, scrubbing, hydration, massage, steam and a hair and scalp reset. The salon describes it as unlike anything else in Kansas City. Hair extensions begin with a complimentary consultation to judge fit, followed by personalized pricing, and a non-refundable deposit is required to book them.

Each service is tailored to the client's hair texture, history and goals, and new clients are matched to a stylist through an online survey. Major color changes and corrections start with a free consultation.
